Renata Alves
Renata Alves is the senior editor of Best Car Insurance Florida. She worked for eight years as a licensed property and casualty agent in the Tampa Bay area, where most of her days were spent explaining PIP, uninsured motorist coverage and hurricane deductibles to people who had just moved to the state.
She launched this site in 2022 to write the explanations she wished she could have handed to clients: what Florida actually requires, what the minimum leaves out, and how to compare quotes without being steered. She reviews every requirements and coverage page at least twice a year and after any change in Florida law.
Renata lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. She no longer holds an active licence and does not sell insurance.
